I had no idea this place existed, until I called around to find an appointment for a stray kitten that had wandered onto my property. We*(kitten & I), received such a warm welcome from the receptionist and their the whole entire staff is amazing. So friendly informative, and they love love. Animals love love. Love. Love love love love, love, love, love them They took such great care of her, A wonderful experience all around.
Great with dogs. Awesome vet and receptionist. Very caring people. They treat you like family.
A vet who refuses to admit wrongdoing is a dangerous vet. My cat was neutered from a vet who works here (and re-operated on the next day as the initial surgery came open) before I adopted him. When I adopted him, the surgical site was clearly abnormal—swollen, discolored, misshapen. After it was struggling to heal, I took him to a different vet (who had an additional vet look at it) who (both) assessed that it was not a normal looking surgical site and the tissue appeared to be necrotic. I made contact with the vet at this facility (who performed the procedure) hoping that she could share any complications that happened during the surgery or the "fix surgery". His scrotum looked surgically glued together in various places (this is my non-medical opinion of what I could see from looking at his scrotum). Routine procedures like this should heal in 3-5 days, I was on day 10 and the site she operated on was not looking better/healing. I was told some vets do not use glue for this surgery. I was told to bring my cat back so she could assess it herself, so I drove over an hour one way (2 hours round trip) hoping she could fix the situation or provide context as to what was going on. The room was dim, and it was obvious she had already made up her mind before even looking. One glance and everything was “normal.” I took out my phone flash light and asked her to take another look- there was no way she could see properly in that room. She again said "normal" and squeezed his inflamed scrotum (which was clearly painful). She took his temperature which was 0.2 degrees from a fever, 0.5 degrees higher than the day prior. I let her know and her response was "oh good". It is not good, it means his internal temperature is increasing and getting close to a fever which is probably only calmed from the medication he was on? Unfortunately, it seemed that this went right over her head. I mentioned that two other vets suspected necrotic tissue which contradicts her assessment of "normal". She became defensive and passive aggressive. She just turned her back to me and started cleaning instruments when her own assistant asked ,”are you done with the exam?” Without turning around she said “yup”. The whole exam lasted less than 5 minutes. I don’t believe that this is a vet who has integrity and is able to admit any sort of fault, wrongdoing, or complication when it comes to her work. I think she lacked a lot of interpersonal tact when it comes to professionalism and interacting with people The next day, the site started to open and bleed. It was obvious that it had become harder, crustier, and was oozing/bloody. I took my cat into the emergency vet who had to remove the entire scrotum sac (exposing internal tissue) because it was indeed necrotic. Because of the glue and the necrosis, several places of his scrotum were able to be literally peeled/ripped apart. Several vets and vet techs that were there agreed that the neuter was abnormal and the tissue necrotic. The complications from what should have been a routine procedure cost over $1500. This whole situation caused immense pain and anxiety for my small 6 month cat. Multiple days within the last week we have been in and out of vets and have dedicated hours of driving, hours of researching and hours of waiting in lobbies to be seen. I have cancelled prior obligations just to be able to monitor his status or get him help that he needed. Multiple times this past week I have had to coax him into a carrier while he knew his future held another day of probing for internal temperatures and excruciating exams. Routine procedures shouldn’t have this many complications. I had about 5 other vets and many vet technicians get a visual on the surgical site and they all agreed that it was 1. Poorly performed, they had never seen anything like it and 2. It was necrotic tissue. The fact that the vet who works here wanted to pretend everything was normal is alarming. I hope she finds opportunities for additional training to help grow her skill set.
