Monday morning June 15th my dog was collapsing and couldn’t walk she was soooo hot. She had an extremely high fever. I originally took her in to a 24 hour emergency clinic Sunday the day before to get treatment and after being there for 7 and a half hours being ignored all day. My high energy dog being damn near comatose wasn’t urgent enough for the ER to properly treat my dog. So when Monday morning rolled around and she couldn’t move I scoop her up bawling because I was so worried about her and didn’t want her to die. I rushed her to our nearest vet to our home. I carried her in crying I got to the front desk and asked can you please help my dog she’s collapsing and has a high fever. I stated I tried to get her help yesterday but the ER didn’t care. They take her back immediately to help assess. They listened to me they took her temperature we were all concerned about it because it was 106.2. A whole degree warmer now than it was at the ER. They did a further exam I explained what her symptoms were and when it started. Why I took her to the ER. They got her records from the ER from the day prior. They took her back right away to get her on an IV fluid drip worked with her all day to get her fever down. Started treating her immediately for a tick borne illness because that’s what they thought the symptoms were presenting as most. We did still test for other things like blastomycosis. Today is now Tuesday June 16th my dog is almost back to her normal self. After being on antibiotics for 24 hours and the fluids. If it wasn’t for Sussex animal clinic I don’t know where me and Hazel would be right now. They truly saved her life. I know some people maybe feel like some vets can be expensive but I will say this clinic it’s worth the price when you have excellent healthcare and doctors that know what they are doing and what to treat. They listened and cared for my baby girl more then anyone else! I recommend this clinic for their knowledge and care! Your 4 legged babies will appreciate you!

Highly recommend this clinic and staff. My sick cat was evaluated by Dr. Mackenzie...she went beyond the usual diagnostics to get me the most information to make decisions on care for my cat.

I’ve never had a better veterinary experience. Lauren is personable, thorough, and genuinely kind—she put my dog completely at ease. Dr. McKenzie took time to walk through every procedure option with detailed pros and cons, and her expertise was matched by real compassion. You could tell she understands pet ownership from personal experience. The whole team creates an environment where your pet feels comfortable and you feel heard. Highly recommend

Called at 8:20 for my dog who has a possible injured tail, she stated they had a cancellation and that a 9:30 would work. I wasn’t able to secure the appointment due to a $75 deposit having to be made via phone prior to the appointment? I explained i live 5 mins away and a cash paying type of guy. I stated the appointment was less than a hour away and I would just bring the dog and cash with me. None the less it didn’t work out. Bummer.
