Four Paws Veterinary Clinic Sc

Four Paws fit me in today for an emergency with my dog and I am so appreciative!! They are wonderful!!

I took my dog in for a wound, it was scheduled a week in advance. When I get there I explained to Dr. Marla what was going on. She did not listen. She kept insisting my dogs allergies were bad despite my dog never having this kind of issue EVER before. I tried to tell her that and she again focused on allergies. But then proceeded to give my dog antibiotics. She took my dog out of the room (not the issue) and proceeded to give her some type of treatment that I knew nothing about or did I consent, but was just given the bill for. She DID NOT once communicate how much this visit was costing. Every other vet clinic has always communicated. I did not argue the bill when I was there but this visit cost more than it cost me to have my 130lb Great Dane neutered and his stomach stapled at another clinic. It also cost less to take that same Great Dane in for an emergency visit where he was given anesthesia. I called back several hours later to discuss the bill and was told "we have fees." I made sure to point out I wasn't upset about the bill but the lack of communication as I will pay anything for my animals. I'm sorry but no excuse under the sun is ok to not communicate when the bill is pushing close to $700. I also pointed out that I was never asked if my dog could have the ear treatment she received and it was utter crickets on their end. At the end of it she goes "we will try better in the future." That is great for you as I would rather take my dog 40 minutes away to a vet that communicates, does a great job and costs less. The only reason we tried here was their hours worked better for our household.

My dog has been experiencing a chronic health issue for a few months.. Both Dr. Milde and Dr. Gilligan have been nothing but wonderful while helping us figure out the best course of treatment to keep my dog as healthy and comfortable as possible. They and their staff are always professional, respectful and personable. They explain everything so well without being condescending. They make sure to recommend only what's absolutely necessary and not push extra treatments or products. Plus they are always ready to give lots of cuddles and treats to both my dogs while we are there 🙂 I cannot recommend four paws enough, thank you for all you do!
