This is a no frills vet that doesn't lie to you, try to get you to buy crap you don't need and cares about your babies. We switched our cat's flea treatment because what was prescribed at another vet was known to kill some cats. I trust Dr. Elmer a lot more than some of the other vets we've tried. They may have communication issues at this vet, but I owe them a huge debt of gratitude for what they've done for us. Both of our cats had their lives saved by Dr. Elmer. Poppy was immediately seen when she was trying to pee outside of her box but nothing came out. She had a bad case of pancreatitis. It came back many years later and was only found by a routine kidney blood test. Her only symptom was easily missed by her sleeping more than usual. Lois stopped eating, dropped a lot of weight in a short time and was yowling a lot. We found that she had something in her trachea. She was in a lot of pain. Most cat meds are liquid and had her on them. She didn't do well on liquid meds and was knocking on death's door. Both Dr. Elmer and I were about ready to let her go. I even told my husband to answer the phone if I call because it may be time to soon put her down. I kept asking Lois if it was time because I was ready. She just said no in her own way and had just too much fight. I had an idea to give Lois a pain med in pill form. This is very hard to find in a small enough pill for a cat. Dr. Elmer had them on hand and was willing to work with me on this. We are truly blessed that this worked. Each day we get with Lois since has been nothing short of a miracle. It's now been 10 months. Things are progressing slowly but Lois has gained weight, is happy and comfortable. She even lays on me frequently for long periods of time, something she almost never did before. I would absolutely trust Dr. Elmer with my babies lives!!!
